F\u00e1tima Ftouni, 30, wore no military uniform; she donned a vest marked \u2018PRESS.\u2019<\/strong> However, for Israel, that identification was no shield. Together with her brother Mohammad, a photojournalist, and colleague Ali Choeib, she was struck by four missiles launched from different drones in a relentless and cruel attack while traveling through southern Lebanon. Their clearly marked vehicle was left twisted like a metal altar.<\/p>\n

This was not the first assassination attempt on her; in 2024, warplanes had targeted her life.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou Have Burned Our Hearts with Your Departure\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cYou have burned our hearts with your departure,\u201d stated Ghassan Ben Jeddou, president of Al Mayadeen, during her farewell. Yet F\u00e1tima had already penned her testament during her life: \u201cWe defend the truth and fear no one but God<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>. She also made a fierce promise to a Palestinian friend: to pray together in Jerusalem and embrace at the shared border of Lebanon and Palestine, a Jerusalem for which she fought tirelessly.<\/p>\n

Her father, tears yet warm, shared a chilling sentiment during her funeral: \u201cThis path, this blood, will inevitably lead to victory.\u201d Because F\u00e1tima sought not mercy but justice. In one of her final messages on X, she declared a sentence to her assassins: \u201cYou will always face defeat<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>. Today, her name stands as a banner for journalists chronicling resistance from Gaza to southern Lebanon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From Chile, Minga Ancestral paid tribute by sharing a video from Al Mayadeen, recognizing that the land weeps in Lebanon is the same land aflame in Palestine. Because F\u00e1tima is not just a name: she is a light that four missiles failed to extinguish. And that light now travels from Western Asia to the world, awakening consciousness and resonating in every newsroom that still believes in the truth.<\/p>\n
