\u00abIr al ba\u00f1o es un derecho humano\u00bb: Trabajadores del transporte lanzan campa\u00f1a nacional por condiciones laborales dignas<\/a><\/p>\n\nOn Thursday, April 8th, the campaign \u00abGoing to the Bathroom is a Human Right\u00bb was launched at the CUT headquarters, an initiative driven by national and international union organizations in the transportation sector.<\/p>\n
The event saw participation from dozens of workers across various public and urban transportation systems in the country, including representatives from Antofagasta, Concepci\u00f3n, Valpara\u00edso, the Metropolitan Region, rural areas, and the Santiago Metro.<\/p>\n
During the day, attendees shared experiences highlighting a widespread issue: the lack of access to sanitary facilities during work hours.<\/p>\n
Thus, the rallying cry \u00abthe bathroom, the bathroom, a human right\u00bb set the tone for a gathering that combined denunciation, organization, and proposals.<\/p>\n
\u00abThis is a traveling initiative that will visit different regions of the country with the goal of raising public awareness and progressing towards concrete solutions to a reality that affects the dignity, health, and labor rights of those who support public transportation in Chile,\u00bb the organizing groups explained.<\/p>\n
In this light, it was noted that this is the first step to place the issue on the public agenda \u00aband to advance, through union organization, in improving labor conditions for the sector.\u00bb <\/p>\n
The campaign is promoted by the International Transport Workers\u2019 Federation (ITF), the National Union of Public Transport Workers (UNTTRAP), the Santiago Metro Workers\u2019 Union Federation (FESIMETRO), CUT Chile and its public transport branch, with support from UNIFOR\u2019s Social Justice Fund.<\/p>\n
